Why point-and-click adventures belong on touchscreens
Point-and-click adventures were awkward with a mouse and worse with a controller. On a touchscreen, you just tap the thing. It turns out the whole genre was waiting for this input the entire time.
Hollowreach is the game that convinced me. Dragging items, examining a corner of a room, tapping a character to talk, it all feels natural. No cursor hunting, no menus fighting you. Your finger is the pointer.
The one risk is tiny hotspots on small screens. The good games solve this with generous tap zones and a subtle highlight for interactive objects. The bad ones make you pixel-hunt, which is misery on a phone.
If you wrote off this genre years ago, give it another shot on mobile. The pacing suits short sessions, and the storytelling holds up better than most flashier games on the store.
