Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG I keep thinking about after I put the phone down. You play a border scout who stumbles into a slow-burning collapse, and the game trusts you to read between the lines instead of spelling everything out. Dialogue choices carry weight; a decision in chapter two came back to bite me eight hours later.

Combat is turn-based with a timing layer, so blocking and counters reward attention. Party building offers real flexibility without drowning you in menus. I ran a support-heavy team and it worked, which is a good sign that the systems are balanced.

The grind is light by RPG standards. Side quests give useful rewards and most of them have writing worth reading. My only gripe is a soft paywall on cosmetic gear, but nothing gameplay-critical sits behind it.
