Hollowreach

Hollowreach is a mood more than a game, in the best way. You wander a sunken town solving environmental puzzles while piecing together why the water came. The art is gorgeous and the sound design does a lot of quiet heavy lifting.

Puzzles are logical and rarely resort to moon-logic nonsense. When I got stuck it was because I had missed a detail, not because the game was being obtuse. A gentle hint system is there if you need it.

It is a fairly short experience, maybe five or six hours, but it does not overstay its welcome. I finished it over two evenings and immediately recommended it to half the office.
